2015 is shaping up to be the year of the male group comebacks, and this one is marked as another big deal for the month of May - a true standout for Korean Pop fans across the world.
After 2014’s Japanese arena tour, two wildly successful, sell-out concerts at Tokyo Dome, multiple Japanese single releases, and most recently their run of performances of SHINee World IV in Seoul surrounding months of Korean comeback speculation, the boys from SHINee have just released their latest studio album ‘Odd’.
Indeed, this album – their fourth full studio album in seven years – has been highly anticipated; Shawol’s have been waiting well over a year for the boys to make a domestic comeback after their last Korean single, ‘Everybody’. Now, it seems that it was well worth the wait - in stellar form, Jonghyun, Taemin, Minho, Key, and Onew have all most certainly delivered.
The eleven-track album features a robust and wildly diverse array of tunes, all of which are quite capable of being able to stand quite vigorously by themselves as individual songs. Highlights include the sumptuously sexy ‘Odd Eye’, the electronically pulsating ‘Trigger’, and the faultlessly passionate ‘Farewell My Love’. This range of musical genres serves to highlight the impeccable talent that group possesses as a whole.
Undeniably, their single ‘View’ is a true standout; an infectiously upbeat, celestial driving pop-hit that features SHINee at their most brilliant, bubbling best. And if the sound is anything to go by, the MV is bound to be brilliant! Keep your eyes peeled, because it is expected to drop soon!
